New tasting series: Cafe Manhattan, Green Point.

Uncover the secrets of the spirit world, starting with a cross-continental journey into whisky.

Starting on the 7th February, Café Manhattan, Green Point is hosting two hours of tasting and talking about all thing spirits.  Whisky guru Bernard Gutman will take you through the history of whisky, from Iraq to America, from France to Scotland, delving into Single Malts, Blends and Bourbons.

The first evening starts at 6.30 sharp with whisky cocktails and snacks, then from 7 to 8.30 Bernard will serve you five premium whiskies and bourbons, including Maker’s Mark, the original special recipe bourbon, and Laphroaig, the World’s best-selling Islay Single Malt.

Every second Tuesday Bernard will introduce different whiskies, then move into rum, tequila, vodka, brandy and other spirits. The full program will appear on this blog and http://www.manhattan.co.za/

About the presenter: Bernard Gutman is an independent whisky presenter, who has been talking and writing about whisky for the past 10 years in South Africa, Cuba, Kenya and England. He co-hosted the first weekly radio show, Let’s Talk Whisky, writes regularly for local and international magazines and has been featured in many whisky publications.  His passion is premium spirits.
