A must attend whisky tasting in Cape Town. Andy Watts with some cask samples.

This Wednesday there is going to be a tasting of Bain’s Cape Mountain Whisky the entire Three Ships whisky range including the Three Ships 10 year old single malt and a sneak-peak into some single malt work-in-progress.

Andy Watts, Manager of the James Sedgwick Distillery that produces these fine whiskies, will present the whiskies. If you have been to one of Andy’s events, you will know that he is one of the most knowledgeable in the industry and shares his knowledge in an easy to understand manner. In their annual blind tasting competition, Whisky Magazine (UK) declared Bain’s the Best Grain Whisky in the World and also declared Three Ships 5 Year Old the Best Blended Whisky in the World.

The distillery has thousands of casks of single malt maturing quietly in the warehouses. Andy will be selecting a sample from these casks especially for us to taste on the night.

The tasting takes place at the Wild Fig restaurant on Valkenberg Estate in Observatory, Cape Town on Wednesday 18 September at 6 for 6:30pm.

Places are limited and booking is essential. Tickets are R150 each and include delicious snacks provided by the Wild Fig.
