Press release: “SA Cocktail Week launches in Cape Town
SA Cocktail Week is launching in Cape Town and it’s coming with a BANG! This annual celebration of South Africa’s dynamic cocktail scene will span across 10 days, from 28 October to 6 November 2016. We’ll see the first edition of SACW host 2 main events, along with many smaller ones taking place throughout the week at participating venues such as The Park Inn, Orphanage, Buena Vista Social Café and The Metropolitan Golf Club.
The festival will kick off with the Grand Opening at the Cape Quarter in Green Point, hosting pop-up bars by brands such as Jim Beam, Courvoisier, World Class spirit portfolio, Cape Town Gin Company and Mokai. Bootlegger Coffee Company will be serving up some of Cape Town’s best pizzas and burgers to accompany their espresso martini which will be for sale exclusively on the night of the launch.
To bid farewell to this amazing celebration A Toast to Summer is the theme to the official closing event, inspired by the breathtaking view of the ocean and Cape Town’s popular summer nights. Happening at the Hotel School in Granger Bay on Saturday 5 November the event will bring you the Mother City’s first ever cocktail expo. Added brands such as Woodstock Gin Company and The Dutches will be serving up special concoctions which will educate your pallet. BOS ice tea will also be launching their new cocktail range on the day, and don’t forget to try out The Harald’s bar. You can also expect to get great live music and a majestic view of the sunset. The hotel school will have a fully operational kitchen on the night, for those who wish to indulge in their summer menu.
Apart from the two main events, which are open to all wristband holders, festival goers are encouraged to miss that afternoon traffic and go try any of our signature cocktails which will be served up at all our participating venues including, The Grand Daddy Hotel, Cabrito, Kloof Street House, Café Mojito, 15 On Orange, The Odyssey and the list goes on. It doesn’t end there; SACW feature events include a round of sunset cocktails & golf, the official Tanqueray party at Orphanage and cocktail Master Classes where you can learn how to put together the perfect cocktail combination. To make sure all guests get home safely, SACW has partnered with Uber to give all wrist band holders R150 off their first Uber ride with the code SACW2016. Interested patrons should have a look at the SACW social media pages to get more details and lists of all the events, participating venues and deals, such as 10% off a night’s stay at The Park Inn Hotel on a B&B basis, using their wristband.
Tickets are R190 and available via Computicket. All tickets must be exchanged for a wristband at the Honeybadger, 91 Loop Street from 17 October – 4 November 2016.
